Random, Random, Random.

Win stuff!  Every month the trade association we belong to offers readers the opportunity to win $25 gift certificates to the indie bookstore of choice.  What's better than that?  At the end of the year one of the $25 winners will receive a  $500 gift certificate to the indie bookstore of  choice.

Here's how: stop into LaDeDa to pick up a map, and hopefully buy a book.  Take a picture of yourself in front of our store, or another store on the map and send it to Twitter or FaceBook using the address provided on the map.  Easy.

Apple and Maia visited  LaDeDa on Friday  The girls, along with their dad, are camping and, along the way  are -as they stated - "doing the map". The map features independent bookstores in our association covering Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.  I am happy to say that Wisconsin and Minnesota have the most indie shops in the Midwest.  Way to go, readers! Thanks for your support So far, the girls have been to Readers Loft, Snowbound, Inklink, Bookheads, LaDeDa and were headed to Port Washington.  Good luck Apple and Maia.  I hope I see your names on winner list.

I'll be back next week with some book-is words, but in the meantime, I just have to share short shots from three Manitowoc Face Book posts that I stumbled across last week.  It's been a challenging week for pets and pet owners.

First there are the escape parakeets.  The owner set the cage outside for them to get fresh air, and POOF, the disappeared.  Pretty sad, but can't you just see those two feathered criminal  picking at the cage door, working their way to freedom?

Then there was the report of the beagle running on the highway "headed toward Popeyes."  Again, fire up those right brains and imagine the little guy waiting in the drive through for his chicken strips.

This final one is real perplexing.  Two young girls found a stray dog, and thinking it belonged to a neighbor, dropped it off at her house.  Shortly after, the dog recipient posted a FB notice saying that a few minutes after the dog was dropped off, she noticed that it wasn't hers and she was looking for the proper owners.

Life is good. Life is funny.  Be happy peeps.
Thanks for stopping by and for tolerating the randomness of this post.
